My name is Newt; I wear glasses and thrift store clothes. I went to community college in Centralia, WA, between January 2006 and December 2007 where I was planning on getting my 2-year AA degree in graphic arts, but I quit to move in with my best friend in Victoria, BC, Canada. I've been back in Washington since mid-May. I've been working at Subway and challenging my insecurities. I'm moving to Portland, OR, soon:
My passion is art. I like to sing. I love music. I love listening to and connecting with people, understanding myself better, and feeling loved. I believe in peace; am opposed to the death penalty; used to write more poetry than I do now; am frighted by how grown up my life is becoming.
I am an unschooler and think public school is, in general, harmful, though I understand that most people don't really have an alternative. Not Back To School Camp has been my home for a long time. I'm finding myself a new home now.
I want to be homeless someday, walk barefoot from the west coast to the east coast, and discover what it is that I really, truly want. I keep a journal - less prolifically and colorfully than I used to, but I'm working on that. My mom and dad live in WA. My older sister lived in Chiapas and now lives with us and is moving to Texas.
I was born in Barquisimeto, Lara, Venezuela, raised in Wisconsin, spent several years in Washington, and 2008 will be WA/Victoria/WA/Portland.
